Drawing experiments are artistic experiments that try to make live drawing and music interact. In the following video, the artists' gestures are generating the musical output. The technology used is a motion capture system based on simple computer vision algorithms and a webcam. The phrasing is the most important element that we aimed to emphasize and make it as vivid as possible in both the visual and the sonic domain.
In the following experiment the relationship between drawing and music is reversed. Layers of drawings were created and digitized before the performance. The artists perform a percussive musical composition which at the same time reveals the visual layers. The system was programmed in Max programming language.
